nashprint tea towels are now selling in Norwich exclusively to a wonderful little cafe called The Tea Lounge. The Tea Lounge offer the more discerning customer a proper cuppa tea- loose leaf tea, brewed in a brown betty tea pot served with a cup and saucer and a scrumptious selection of home made cakes - plus the owners are pretty cool ladies too! A perfect place to spend an afternoon in Norwich.....

COLOURED PARQUET
I love parquet flooring and have recently discovered a company called McKay Flooring Ltd that allow you to create your own parquet design with colour! They have just sent me some parquet graph paper to create a design on. Take a look at my inspiration from their previous projects including Stella McCartney's shop in NY.

I am very excited to announce that Nashprint features as part of the Summer Days Stall from 1st - 30th June 2012 on the BlogandBuySale here:
Run by James & Josephine, BlogAndBuySale was launched to help support and showcase the very best creative sellers from around the world.
Intended to promote artists and designers who sell their work on the internet, BlogAndBuySale is all about helping up and coming talent looking to get noticed and make some real cash to boot. There are so many brilliant things getting sold by independent artists and designers, but the problem is the public doesn’t always stumble upon them.

SOPHIE MICHAEL FOR NASHPRINT
Installation by artist Sophie Michael featuring 'Block 1' Nashprint tea towel. Sophie is currently in her final year at the Royal Academy School, London.
"Sophie Michael’s films are like a visual hide-and-seek. Her work brings together sculpture and film in such a way that ordinary objects are transformed for us by the minutely directed specificity of her looking. The reels unfold kaleidoscopically before the eye, looping through analogue sequences of manipulated light and glimpsed environments that are both confused and familiar yet all shot through with an acute awareness of the nostalgia we attach to both formats and objects." (Eva Rothschild, Frieze article)

OUT OF THE DARK
Today I made a trip from London to High Wycombe to visit Out of the Dark, a charity that recycles, repurposes and revamps salvaged
furniture as a means to educate, train and employ young people from
disadvantaged backgrounds. It was great to meet Jade, one of
the founders of the charity along with her husband Jay. Interestingly, High
Wycombe used to be the centre of furniture production in the 20th
century with renowned names such as Ercol, G-Plan and Parker Knoll leaving
their mark on the town.
It was really inspiring to see Out
of the Dark’s studio with so many beautiful treasures of furniture
carefully being restored by young apprentices. Here are a few of my particular favourites,
check out their online shop as they are all for sale!
